Bomb threat clears Red Lake Elementary School

(RLNN) - At sometime after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2003, Red Lake Elementary School officials found a note outside in the playground area containing information that there was a bomb inside the Elementary School.

Shortly thereafter an emergency evacuation of both the Red Lake Elementary School and the Early Childhood Development Center was initiated, whereupon all students were bussed to the Red Lake Humanities Center.

Emergency personnel had been notified and Red Lake Law Enforcement officials conducted a thorough search of the premises without finding anything threatening to the lives of students and staff.

After the school was cleared by officials, the students were bussed back to both schools and classes continued as scheduled about 1:30 p.m. that afternoon. There were no reported injuries in the evacuation.
