| Red Lake saw its first accumulative snowfall, a mixture of snow and rain, on Monday, October 27, 2003, causing poor visibility, and some slippery road conditions. Although early weather reports indicated there might be some patchy accumulation, by 11 p.m. there was still about an inch of white slush remaining on the ground, and it was still raining. At about 4 p.m. when this photo was taken, vehicles were traveling slower on the roadways than normal, many people probably trying to fine-tune their winter driving habits. Some plows also came out to plow and sand in the evening. An early winter perhaps? Or just a little taste? There's about 57 more shopping days left until Christmas in any event... |
