Red Lake Lady Warriors girls basketball team
lose opener to Cass Lake-Bena
The young Red Lake girls basketball team played their first game on Tuesday, December 2,
2003, in Cass Lake, and were outgunned 86-34.
Red Lake had trouble getting their offense going in the first quarter, and when they finally did
in the second, they found themselves trailing 36-9 at the half.
The Lady Warriors scored 12 in the third quarter and 13 in the fourth, but Cass Lake-Bena
never let up, outscoring Red Lake 50-25 in the second half.
Charlene Anderson led Red Lake with 13 points, Katie Perkins finished with 10, Marie Spears
netted 8, and Andi Cobenais had 3.
Four Cass Lake-Bena players finished in double figures, with Tahnee Haas leading all scorers
with 24, Cara Donnell had 17, Brittney Bennet 15, and Ami Fineday 11.
Red Lake is on the road again on Thursday, December 4, with a trip to Nevis, (1-0 after
defeating Clearbrook-Gonvick in their opener.).
