Red Lake AmeriCorps Program makes final selections

      In September 2004, the Red Lake AmeriCorp Program made its final selections for the program year 2004-2005, which became effective on September 13, 2004.

      The selections were approved by the Chairman of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians.

      Recommendations for the positions were selected by the Program Director, Assistant Director, Community Coordinators from each Reservation district and previous AmeriCorp members.

      Ninety applications were received, and according to Program Director Myrna Hardy, it was a challenge to select twenty-nine members.

      “Although we wish we could have selected all applicants, we were able to select twenty-nine members,” Hardy stated in her memorandum.

      The Program also wished to thank everyone who applied for their interest in serving their communities.
