Tammy Jo Johnson, 39, of Roseville , MN died Saturday, July
7, 2007 at the Regions Hospital in St.
Paul , MN .
Traditional Funeral Services will be 12 noon, Thursday, July 12,
2007 at the Ponemah
Community Center in Ponemah , MN . A wake will begin at
3:00 pm, Wednesday, July 11, 2007, and will continue until the time of the
services. Interment will be at her Family Burial Grounds in Mah-Quam-Bay.
Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
She was born on March 3, 1968, in St. Paul ,
MN , the daughter of Dennis and
Kathryn (Leslie) Johnson. She was raised in Ponemah , MN . She attended boarding
schools in Wahpeton, ND, and graduated from Flandreau
Indian School
in Flandreau , SD.
She attended the Minneapolis Vo-Tech where she studied Nursing. She
worked in a nursing home for some time, before becoming a driver for the
handicapped. She aspired to be a snowplow driver for MNDot, but became sick before she could pursue the
job. She enjoyed attending pow-wows,
where she was a fancy shawl dancer as a young woman. She was known for
her beadwork. She enjoyed attending concerts, playing bingo, fishing, and attending family
gatherings.

Roseville , MN; Son, Evan Johnson of St. Paul , MN; Special
Companion, Tim White of Roseville , MN;

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, and her
maternal grandmother.
