Roxanne Cloud

     Roxanne Jean LoveyCloud, 30, of Red Lake, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at her home. Traditional services will be held in the Indian custom at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Little Rock Center in Red Lake. A wake will begin today, March 18, and will continue until the time of service Saturday. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

     Pallbearers will be Gary Smith Sr., Zachary May, Dustin Smith, Burt Benton, Loren Segal, Chris Cloud and Fabian Cloud Jr., with alternate Allen Smith.

     Honorary pallbearers will be Sherri Kingbird, Leanne Pacheco, Allison Benton, Lynette Sumner, Theresa Smith and Alberta Smith, with alternate Sarah Smith.

     Roxanne was born on June 4, 1973, to Clarice and Ralph Cloud Sr. Her Indian name is Thunder Bird Woman. She lived in Red Lake most of her life. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, and went on to high school. She worked at Jourdain/Perpich Nursing Home.

     She enjoyed playing basketball and being in track and field. She was a traditional woman. She danced jungle dress, and attended many powwows. She enjoyed dancing and placed at quite a few. She was always an outgoing person, and always had a sense of humor.

     She is survived by her parents, Clarice and Ralph Cloud Sr., of Red Lake; children Rosemary and William Mountain III and Jssica Johnson, all of Red Lake; sisters, Alberta (Bill) Smith of Onigum, Raphaela (Zachery) Cloud of Red Lake, and Rokelle Cloud f Red Lake; brother, Ralph (Sonny) Cloud Jr. of Red Lake; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

     She is preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Roy Cloud, son, Myron Wakanabo Jr., maternal grandparents, Herbert and Delores Smith Sr., and Roy and Mary Jane Cloud, and two aunts.
