Richard Paul Richey Sr., Ojibwe name Mish-ko-gish-ga-wabe, 70, of Red Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the Butner Medical Center in Butner, N.C. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake with the Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating. A wake began Monday afternoon at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake and will continue until the time of the service Wednesday. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
