“SHINOB” MARVIN PATRICK STRONG SR
“Shinob” Marvin Patrick Strong, Sr., 59, of Redby, Minnesota died Thursday, February 3,
2005 at the Jourdain/ Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake, Minnesota.
Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck is assisting the family with arrangements.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 7, 2005 at the St Mary’s Catholic
Church in Red Lake, Minnesota with Rev. Fr. Patrick Sullivan officiating. A wake will begin in
the afternoon on Saturday, February 5th at the Redby Community Center in Redby, Minnesota and
will continue until the services. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake,
Minnesota.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Clark, Harlan Strong, Robert Anderson, Richard Sumner
Jr., Ron Brun, and Robin Roberts
Active pallbearers will be Anthony Strong, Jeremy Strong, Michael Needham, Eric Nelson,
Darwin Strong, Orville White Jr., Bryan Stately, Greg Strong and alternates Christopher Strong
and Edward Strong.
Shinob was born on February 7, 1945 at Red Lake, Minnesota, the son of Burton and Mary
Lorraine (Hart) Strong. He attended school in Red Lake and he went for Chef training in 1966.
He worked at the Redby Saw Mill for a few years, and he did odd jobs. He also worked at the
Redby Garage as a Mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his grandkids, and
going to the casino.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherilyn (Robert) Anderson of Redby; 2 sons, Marvin (Beth)
Strong Jr. of Bemidji, and Richard Strong Sr. of Redby; 22 grandchildren , and 4 great
grandchildren; 3 brothers, Herman Strong Sr. of Redby, Jerome (Margaret) Strong of Redby, and
Lester (Colleen) Strong of Redby; 2 sisters, Helen Jones of Redby, and Kathleen Strong of
Redby; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burton Strong; mother, Mary Strong; 2 daughters,
Brenda Strong and Eljean Whitefeather; a brother, Gerald Strong, 2 sisters, Margaret Strong and
Cecelia Strong; 6 nephews, David Strong, Gary Strong, Duane Strong, Derrick Strong, Damien
Strong, and Micheal Hart; and a niece, Ramona Strong.
