LeRoy Whitefeather
Jr., 62 of Red Lake died Friday,
April 1, 2005
at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday,
April 6, 2005
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake with Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating.
A wake began on Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Little Rock Center in Red Lake, MN and continued until the time of
the service on Wednesday. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake under the direction of the Cease
Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
LeRoy was born on August
25, 1942,
in Red
Lake, MN, the son of LeRoy
Whitefeather Sr. and Esther (Fairbanks) Sayers. He was raised and educated in Red Lake.
After finishing school he joined the US Air Force and served for 2
years. When he was discharged he spent his time traveling.
He married Elizabeth Whitefeather, she passed
away leaving him a widower. He returned
to Red Lake about ten years ago. He went to school and was certified
as a heavy equipment operator. He
retired in 2003. LeRoy
made poppies for the VFW in St. Paul, MN in his spare time, and liked to go
to the casino and play bingo. He was
well loved by his brothers, sisters, and many friends.
He is survived by: his

of Redby, MN; Ramona (John A.) Smith

MN; Gloria (Clarence) Whitefeather-Spears of Redby, MN; Georgianna (Dennis) Whitefeather of Minneapolis, MN: Brothers, Adrian (Darlene) Lussier
of Redby, MN; Leland (Donna) Sayers of Red Lake, MN; Richard
L. Whitefeather of Seattle, WA; Martin Whitefeather of Laramie, WY; Special Friend, Irene Summers
of Rice Lake, MN; and several Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews
He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, 7 brothers,
and 2 sisters.
Casketbearers will be: Leroy Varney, Travis
Varney, Tyrone Barrett, Daryl Barrett, Charles “Chip” May, Adrian Sayers, and
John Lussier.
