James Lee Gibbs

 

James Lee Gibbs, 25,  of Redby, MN died Saturday, June 11, 2005  in Minneapolis, MN at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 16 2005 at the Redby Community church with Rev. Tom Pollock officiating. A wake will begin 10:00am Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Red Lake Community Center and continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Redby Community Cemetery in Redby, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on August 28, 1979, in Red Lake, MN,  the son of Neil Lussier and Christine Gibbs.

He was raised in Redby and educated in Red Lake.  He went to work in construction after completing school, mostly in Minneapolis.  He was a certified bricklayer.  Ten Months ago James gave his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and began ministering to the people.  He attended Mt. Zion Church in Bemidji, and was affiliated with the Redby Community Church.  He enjoyed working out, spending time with his friends whom he considered brothers, spending time with his little sisters, and playing basketball with his brothers.

He is survived by his fianceSahgahsega Atkinson of Pennington, MN; Mother, Tina Gibbs of Redby, MN; Father, Neil Lussier of Red Lake, MN; Brothers, Jeremiah Defoe of Redby, MN; Michael Defoe Jr. of Red Lake, MN; David Defoe of Redby, MN; Corey Roberts of Red Lake, MN; Sisters, Amanda Defoe of Redby, MN; Carmen Defoe of Redby, MN; Caitlin Defoe of Redby, MN; Grandparents, Oliver James (Laura Marie) Gibbs of Mizpah, MN; Best Friends,  Daryl Barrett, Tyrone Barrett, Adrian Sayers, Leland Sayers Jr., and Dale Sayers; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Darlene Kaye Gibbs, paternal grandmother Eva Wind, and his uncle Leland Sayers Sr.

Casketbearers will be: Jermiah Defoe, Michael Defoe Jr., Corey Roberts, Alan Wietzel, Adrian Sayers, Daryl Barrett, Paul Thornhill, Myron Gibbs,
