Edward John Maxwell, 45 of Red Lake died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in Red Lake , MN

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, June 8, 2007 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake , MN with Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating.   A wake will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the Little Rock Center in Red Lake and continue until the time of service on Friday.  Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake , MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Ed was born December 4, 1961 to Ruby (Maxwell) Bratvold and the late Leon Donnell, Sr.  He was raised by his parents Roger and Ruby Bratvold.  He attended elementary school at St. Mary’s in Red Lake The family moved to Clearbrook , MN in 1978 and he graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1980.  After completing high school, Ed attended Bemidji Vocational Technical Institute earning a diploma in heating and sheet metal.  He also traveled throughout the United States working as a rock mason/brick layer.  Upon returning to the area he worked as a security guard for Red Lake Comprehensive Health Services and Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls , MN .  He was employed at the Seven Clans from 1993 to present.  He married his long time love, Ramona Needham on July 23, 2004 in Red Lake , MN .  They had two sons, Joseph and Jeffery.  Ed was lovable, good-natured and had a great sense of humor.  He was always friendly and willing to help others.  He enjoyed drawing, dancing, gambling, playing pool, throwing horseshoes but more than anything else, he loved to spend time with his friends and family.  Spirituality was important to Ed and he attended church regularly.  He was loved dearly and will be missed. 

He is survived by wife Ramona and sons, Joseph and Jeffery of Thief River Falls, MN; Parents: Roger and Ruby Bratvold of Clearbrook , MN; Sisters: Luanne (Clayton) Strong, Sr. of Redby , MN, Michelle Maxwell of Bemidji , MN, Crystal Wright of Clearbrook , MN, Debra Bratvold of Bemidji , MN, Laurel (Ervin) Lussier of Red Lake , MN, Sherri (Phillip) May, Sr. of Redby , MN; Brothers: Darren Bratvold of Clearbrook , MN, Toby (Danielle) Donnell of Bemidji , MN; And numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by father Leon Donnell, Sr., grandparents Baptise and Bertha Maxwell, uncles Alan Maxwell, Edward W. Maxwell, aunts Violet Maxwell, Joan Wipf, Gladys Rogers and great nephew Ayden Strong.

Active Casketbearers will be Kevin Beaulieu, Jerry Needham, Franklin Beaulieu, Randy Thunder, Clayton Strong, Sr., Stephen Strong, Clayton Strong, Jr., Lucas Bratvold with alternates Ervin Lussier and Tanner Lene.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Jannette Needham, Sherri May, Luanne Strong, Michelle Maxwell, Crystal Wright, Debra Bratvold and Laurel Lussier.
