Donald “Skel” Wayne Fisherman, 49 of Cass Lake, MN
died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at his home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Veteran’s Memorial Building
in Cass Lake, MN with Rev. Harold Eaglebull
and Rev. John Rock officiating. A wake will begin at 4pm,
Thursday, January 3 at the Veteran’s Memorial
Building and go until the
time of service on Saturday. Interment will be at the Prince of Peace Cemetery
in Cass Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family
Funeral Home of Bemidji.
Skel was born July 28, 1958 in Cass Lake, MN
the son of Donald Fisherman and Nancy Whitebird. He
was educated in Cass Lake and Bemidji.
He attended Leech
Lake Tribal
College; majoring in
early childhood development. May 9, 1998 he married Diana Day. He spent most of
his life around the Cass Lake Mission area. He was a past member of the
Minnesota CHIPPS softball team; winning MVP several times. Their team won
numerous National Championships; he was well respected among other softball
teams. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his
granddaughter Maria Mayberry. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo.
He is survived by his wife: Diana Fisherman of Cass Lake

He was preceded in death by father Donald Fisherman, grandparents and
granddaughter Allison Wind.
Honorary Casketbearers will be all of the members of
the Minnesota CHIPPS softball team; past and present and Fred Isham and Michael Robinson.
