David V. Schoenborn Sr.
David V. Schoenborn Sr., "Gray Wolf - Ma'iingan", age 34, of Red Lake, MN, died Monday,
August 30, 2004 as the result of an automobile accident near Tenstrike.
Interment will be in the Red Lake Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake, MN under the direction of
the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Honorary bearers will be Dale Johns, Nate King, Jeff Schoenborn, Jared Schoenborn, Ryan
Needham, Antone Bellanger, Jr, Frank Donnell, Jr, Lloyd Donnell, and Truman Schoenborn.
Pallbearers will be Vin Brown, T-Man May, Billy Jack Schoenborn, Gordon Fairbanks Jr, Bob
Natawa, Richard Ramsey, Martin Parkhurst, Tyrone Schoenborn, Tim Barrett and Wayne Oliver.
David Vincent Schoenborn "Gray Wolf - Ma'iingan" was born August 23, 1970 in
Minneapolis, MN to Julius and Elaine (Donnell) Schoenborn, Sr.. He grew up in Red Lake, MN
and attended school there and graduated from Red Lake High School in 1988. In his earlier years
he was a champion traditional dancer and he traveled over the United States and Canada. He
loved to sing and drum and enjoyed listening to Pow Wow Music. He loved being with family and
friends, doing beadwork and making bustles. He was featured on the front page of the American
Indian Life Magazine.
David is survived by his father, Julius Schoenborn, Sr., Redby, MN; Loving wife, Stacy of
Bemidji; five children, Travis, Amber, David Jr, Hunter and Mateya Schoenborn all of Bemidji,
MN; four sisters, Janice (Martin) Parkhurst, Fridley, MN; Cheryl (Oran Beaulieu) Schoenborn,
Red Lake, MN; Leah (Ron) Loud, Redby, MN; and Sharon (Roman III) Stately, Red Lake, MN;
one brother, Julius (Marilyn Robertson) Schoenborn, Jr, Red Lake, MN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Donnell; sister, Karen Schoenborn, and a
nephew, Julius Schoenborn, III.
