Cynthia “Irene” Rose Sayers, 65 of
Minneapolis died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the
Hennepin Co Medical Center in Minneapolis,
MN.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am
Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake
with Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating. A wake will begin this evening and go until
the time of service on Wednesday at the Little Rock
Center in Red Lake.
Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake
under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
She was born October 4, 1939 in Red Lake
the daughter of Daniel and Cynthia McKenzie. She married Allen James
Sayers. She grew up in Red
Lake and was a homemaker
there until her husband’s death. She then moved to Minneapolis and worked as a Personal Care
Attendant for Hennepin Homes. She enjoyed making dance regalia, attending pow-wows, playing bingo, and spending time with her
grandchildren.
She is survived by her
daughter: Laura (Chris) Sayers Keys of Minneapolis; 7 sons: Harold
(Jeannie) Sayers, Sr. of Redby; Allen Francis Sayers
of Chicago; Michael (Wanda) Sayers of Duluth; Melvin (Sandra) Sayers of
Minneapolis; Greg Sayers of Minneapolis; Chris Sayers
of Sandstone, MN; Duane Sayers of Red Lake; 4
sisters: Rita Cloutier of Minneapolis; Roberta Jones of Minneapolis; Marlene
McKenzie of Minneapolis; Rosalie “Diane” Kier of NayTah
Waush, MN; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by
parents, husband, 2 sons Thomas Edward Sayers and Daniel Wayne Sayers, 2
brothers William Mountain and Charles McKenzie.
