Audrey Jean Goodman

       Audrey Jean Goodman, 55, of Cass Lake, MN died Thursday, November 4, 2004 in Cass Lake, MN at the Cass Lake PHS Indian Hospital.

       Traditional funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN with spiritual leader Tom Stillday officiating. A wake begin at 11:00am Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN and continued until the time of the service. Interment was at the Fineday Cemetery in Pennington, MN.

       The Cease Family Funeral Home of Cass Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

       Audrey was born May 1, 1949, in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Walter and Agnes (Benais) Sayers. She was raised and educated in Red Lake. At the age of 16 she and her family moved to Pennington, MN. She married George Fineday, they had four children, and later divorced. Audrey married Melvin Goodman on November 13, 1993, in Cass Lake, MN. She enjoyed playing bingo and leading a traditional lifestyle. She attended pow-wows, danced, she was recognized for her singing talent, made dancing outfits, and spent a lot of time with traditional people. Audrey loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

       She is survived by her: her husband, Melvin Goodman of Cass Lake, MN; Son, George (Cheryl Secola) Fineday Jr. of Cass Lake; Daughters, Constance Fineday of Bemidji, Julie Fineday of Cass Lake, Railene Fineday of Bemidji, Step-sons, Curtis (Laura Geshick) Tucker of Minneapolis, Adopted Son, Richard Morrison of Canada, Son-in-law, Larry Barrett of Bemidji, MN; 18 Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Grandchildren

       She was preceded in death by: her parents, 2 brothers Arnold and Rudy Sayers

       Active Casketbearers were: Jordan Jones, Julian Jones, Derrick Harper Jr., George Fineday Jr., Curtis Tucker, Lawrence Barrett, Mike Dahl, and Eric Morgan.

       Honorary Casketbearers were: Delores MuckyFineday, Karen Wind, Cheryl Secola, Sheryl Kangas, Barb Fineday, Anna Gibbs, Grace Nass, and Marcy Howard.
