Medsave to sponsor rally for affordable health care

 

MedSave Family Pharmacy and Wellness Center will be sponsoring a Rally for Affordable Health Care in Bemidji on Thursday September 16th, 2004, from 7 to 9 PM.

The event will be held at the Pharmacy at 217 Paul Bunyan Drive NW under the tent in the parking lot.

Panel participants will give a short presentation in areas of their expertise and then take questions from the audience. Guest panelists include;
Congressman Collin Peterson; Attorney General Mike Hatch; State Senator Becky Lourey, Chair Senate Health and Family Security Committee; State Representative Thomas Huntley, House Health & Human Services Committee; State Senator Rod Skoe, Dist. 2, Richard Chernugal, Pharmacist, Sponsor & Owner of MedSave Family Pharmacy; and Cheri Gunvalson, Registered Nurse. The program will be hosted and moderated by Frank Moe, Candidate for State Rep. 4A.

Some topics expected to be covered include the high cost of insurance, small business insurance crunch, how do we help those without insurance, catastrophic health care, high costs of drugs, health care access, and ideas and proposals for reform.

The event will follow a dedication ceremony at North Country Regional Hospital. Ample parking is available. There is no cost and all in the helping profession as well as those concerned with the health care crisis are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided by the Uptown Caffe.
