RED LAKE SCHOOL DISRICT SUPERINTENDENT

**The Red Lake Board of Education monthly meeting for October is scheduled for Wednesday, October 20, 5 Pm, school district administrative office.

**Schools will be closed on October 21 and 22 for MEA activities.

**The streak is stopped. Congratulations to the varsity football team for stopping the football losing streak on September 28. Our records indicate that the streak was five years running. The players and coaches put a lot of extra time in this year in getting their first win.

**Congratulations are also in store for our Board Chairman Arnold Sheike Pemberton. At the Minnesota Indian Education Association meeting Arnold was honored as Elder of the Year for MIEA.

**Parents are reminded that if they are going to visit the school, please check in at the main office. This procedure is in place to insure that the safety of all students in the building are protected at all times.

**School board election November 2. Six individuals are in the general election for three board positions. The school district encourages eligible voters to exercise their right to vote.
