Little Rock Community Snow Sculpture winners

(RLNN) - From a spinoff of the Little Rock Community Snow Day Celebration, which included a fishing derby and other activities, and one of the activities was the snow sculpture contest. The Snow Days celebration was reservation-wide, while the snow sculpture contest was just for those in the Little Rock area.

On March 17, 2004, the winners were selected and their awards presented by Board Members at the Little Rock Center. There were 7 places, first-third, and 4 honorable mentions. Sculpturers had to work with Mother Nature, who didn’t always cooperate, as warmer weather caused problems with the sculptures.

The first place winner was Doug Yellow with his eagle sculpture, and he received $150.00.

John Johnson took second place with his bear sculpture, for which he received $100.00

Third place went to Alayna Blue for her turtle sculpture and she took home $50.00 for her efforts.

Honorable mentions and $20.00 went to Melvin May Jr., Chris Jourdain, Louis Barrett, and a Lussier girl.
