Prior Lake police have found the body of a 24-year-old man who had been missing since early
Sunday.
The body of Manuel Archambault, 24, of Prior Lake, was found about 10 a.m. Tuesday,
authorities said. The death appears to be accidental, but police are waiting for autopsy results,
Chief William O'Rourke said.
The body was found in a wooded area about 200 yards west of the intersection of County
Rds. 42 and 21, O'Rourke said. The car Archambault was driving ran out of gas near the
intersection, and police found it about 3 a.m. Sunday, O'Rourke said. Archambault was a
Hunkpapa Lakota and a member of the Red Lake Nation. He lived on the Mdewakanton Sioux
reservation, less than 2 miles from where his car was found.
Police had information that the man had been drinking earlier that night, and he was found
with a head injury that could have been caused by a fall in the woods, O'Rourke said. It was very
windy, and temperatures dropped into the 20s that night. Archambault had no coat on, he said.
Archambault was the father of two children, ages 1 and 4.
