A War Not Yet Won
By Monica Schwensen
Fate as uncertain as ones journey through life.
Our once gentle domain, will no longer remain,
with the land under siege, our world held
captive and seized.
Conform to a world not of our own, or even known.
Our Great spirit to be lost in the spirits they bring.
We fall and stumble, you turn your head,
not to see us crumble.
No regard for the land they embrace, just as
the tribes they slaughter and nations erase.
You have not a thought of even a sin,
for you are a Christian just as your kin,
still killing, no longer just to win.
A savage we are not, but still, never to be forgot.
The scars of the collision run deep within,
we feel to often digging within.
A nation of souls that need to be mended,
for the war has not yet ended.
