Take Back the Night March and Rally


Bemidji, MN September 21, 2004, to address issues of sexual and domestic violence. Our committee has organized our annual event. We begin at the Rotary Pavilion at 6PM for a Pipe Ceremony, live music, and marching downtown. We continue at BSUs Crying Wolf Room in the Hobson Union for more live music, motivational speakers, information about the issues and healing, and an open microphone for personal stories/poems/testimonials. The MN Clothesline Project will be on display, a message from the Sheila Wellstone Institute of Wellstone Action will be read.

Musicians and speakers scheduled, yet subject to change:

Lynne Baum, Moksha Yoga Studio and Karen Kimbrough: healing ceremony

Jayne Hanson: Keynote Speaker

Musical entertainment:

Donna Polard and Kathryn Lindbom

Lois Holleman and Diane Sauer

There will also be a fundraiser/awareness event for Take Back the Night on Sept. 20th at 7PM at the Uptown Café. Safe Night Out, hosted by the Teen Outreach program with live music and open microphone.

This years Take Back the Night T-shirts will be for sale at the Uptown Café on Sept. 20th, at the event at BSU on Sept. 21st, and at our art exhibit at the Bemidji Community Art Center in November.
