Newly elected Chairman and Representatives
to be sworn in on August 10th
The Red Lake Tribal Council announces that the swearing-in of the newly elected Council
members will take place at the beginning of the Regular Meeting of the Council on August 10,
2004. The meeting will convene at 10:00 a.m. at the Red Lake Humanities Center.
Floyd "Buck" Jourdain, Jr., will be sworn in as the fifth Chairman of the Red Lake Nation by
Chairman George W. King. Chairman Jourdain will then administer the oath of office to Allen
Pemberton, re-elected Redby Representative; Glenda Martin, newly elected Ponemah District
Representative; Donald "Dudie" May and Don Desjarlait, newly elected Red Lake District
Representatives.
The ceremony will feature a Pipe Ceremony, songs to the four directions and honor songs.
Families, members and guests will be afforded an opportunity to congratulate the new Council
Members. The ceremonies will be followed by a luncheon at 12:00 noon.
