Nevis downs Red Lake 14-4

      Five errors in the third inning by the Red Lake baseball team paved the way for Nevis in a 14-4 win in Red Lake Thursday.

      Anthony Prendiz got the win for the Tigers. Truxton Anderson got the loss.

      Red Lake committed 10 errors on the day – six passed balls.

      Sophomore Matt Lien went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Nevis. He also walked twice. Brandon Bellomo had a triple and scored twice while Alex Jones scored three runs and stole a base.

      Freshman Buster Graves had a career game for Red Lake. He finished 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run and a triple for two RBIs. He scored twice and picked up three stolen bases. Devon Ray also had a triple and scored twice.

      The Warriors’ Challenge Johnson struck out 12 in relief of Anderson.

      Red Lake (0-2) hosts Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Thursday while Nevis hosts WHA two days before on Tuesday.
