A vehicle possibly driven by
fugitive Jacob John Lussier was found Tuesday morning
on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. However, Lussier,
who is charged with first-degree murder, remains at large.
An FBI news release announced that law
enforcement authorities are no longer looking for the red and white 1988 GMC
Jimmy that Lussier was believed to be driving. The
vehicle was located by the Red Lake Tribal Police Department at 11 a.m. Tuesday. It was found abandoned in a wooded vacant
lot in the Circle Pines subdivision in the Little Rock district of the reservation.
Lussier, 24, of Red Lake, has been charged in United States District Court
with first-degree murder for allegedly fatally shooting Harley James Sayers,
23, of Red Lake,
Saturday in the Bartons Camp area of the reservation.
According to the criminal
complaint filed Sunday, Lussier ordered Sayers to get
out of a vehicle and as he was exiting, shot and killed him with a shotgun. Lussier then fled the scene.
Lussier, who is also known as Jacob Martin, is described as
an American Indian male, six feet tall, 220 pounds, with brown eyes and black
hair. He has tattoos on his left hand, right forearm, upper left arm and right
leg.
Anyone with information regarding Lussier’s whereabouts should immediately call 911 or the
FBI at (612) 376-3200.
The FBI warns that Lussier
is considered armed and dangerous and he may be in possession of a sawed-off
shotgun and an SKS rifle. Citizens should not approach or try
