Lame Deer woman gets prison
Billings Gazette
U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull on Wednesday sentenced a Lame Deer woman
to prison for dealing methamphetamine from public housing on the Northern
Cheyenne Reservation.
Cebull ordered Theresa Littlebird, 54, to spend three years and one month in
prison for her conviction on six counts of distributing meth. The sentence was
at the low end of the guideline range.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Suek said the Bureau of Indian Affairs began
investigating Littlebird after it received information that she was selling
meth from her residence, which is owned by the tribe's Housing Authority.
Littlebird sold a total of 30 grams of meth to an undercover witness in January
and February. The deals were monitored by video and audio.
