| The Red Lake High School Academic Awards Ceremony took place November 22, 2004. The ceremony was held in the Cultural Room at Red Lake High School. Academic letters were awarded to students in Grades 10-12. The students were honored to have such a fine turnout of parents, School Board, Tribal Council members and teachers at the reception. The Battle River Singers opened and closed the ceremony with “The Honor Song” and “Song of Thanks. Special "thanks" to Superintendent, Stuart Desjarlait and Hereditary Chief, Greeting Spears for their words of congratulations and encouragement to the students and their parents. To receive an academic letter, a sophomore must have earned an “A-“ average in 9th grade, a junior must have maintained a “B+” average the previous two years and a senior must have maintained a “B” average in grades 9-11. 8 students received first year letter awards and 8 students received a 2nd/3rd year pin for their continued excellent performance in the classroom. Congratulations to the students for their fine academic performance! Programs, decorations and food for the ceremony were coordinated by classroom teachers,; Janice Hanson, Deb Brooks and Peggy Nelson. |
