Pioneer Sports The Pioneer Drakes go 4-1 The Blackduck
baseball team won four of their last five to improve to 6-6 on the season. The Drakes took two Tuesday with a 25-3
win over Kelliher/Northome and a 21-0 win over Bobby Olson picked up the win in both
games. Olson entered in the third versus KN and pitched all five innings versus Mike DeJean
ended 4-7 on the day with a double and Adam Beck was 5-8 with a double. Olson
was 2-2 with a 3-run homer versus April 26 the Drakes picked up a road
win at Cody Gross got the complete-game win on the hill. Gross was also 3-5 with a double. Jared Hahn ended 4-5 from the plate. Matt Mistic ended 2-4 with a double. The lone loss for Blackduck over the last five games was a 7-5 setback to Bagley/Clearbrook-Gonvick Thursday. The Flyers’ Jason Bjerke got the win and Beck took the loss. Luke Klostermeier ended 2-3 from the plate with a solo knock in the win. Scott Stebe was 2-4. Scott Geerdes led the Drakes with three hits, DeJean had two. The Drakes picked up a dramatic win Friday beating Cass Lake-Bena 4-3 in eight innings. Gross went the distance for the win while Tom Goodwin picked up the loss. Kevin Burnette pitched the first seven innings for CLB. The Panthers scored one run in the first and held a 1-0 lead until the seventh when the Drakes tied the game. Blackduck then added three more in the eighth for a 4-1 lead. Burnette’s triple in the bottom of the eighth led to two runs but the Panthers couldn’t plate another run. Hahn ended 2-3 for the Drakes while Chris Smith was 2-4. TUESDAY Game

their second year of existence on the baseball diamond, fell to 0-9 on the
season Tuesday losing to Tri-County/Marshall County Central 12-2. The Greyhounds cut the lead to 4-2 in the
second but TC/MCC put eight on the board over the next three for the win. Jake Anderson was a perfect 3-for-3 with
two home runs for three RBI in the win. Tyler Stusynski
was on the hill for the winners. Jesse DeFrang
picked up the loss for Fosston. Josh Roysland was
1-for-2 with a run and an RBI. TC/MCC also won the JV
contest 7-0. TC/MCC

020 00 – 2 3 3 W: Stusynski. L: DeFrang. HR: Fertile-Beltrami 13, Fosston 7 FOSSTON – Junior Taylor Sannes helped give Fertile-Beltrami a 13-7 win over Fosston Monday. Sannes picked up the win for the Falcons on the mound and also
had three doubles and three RBI. Aaron Johnson went 2-4 from
the plate for the Greyhounds with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Josh Roysland
scored one run and drove in three. Eighth grader Reed Sander
got the loss for Fosston. FB ended with seven hits and
committed six errors while Fosston had five hits and four errors. The Hounds face Win-E-Mac
Thursday in their next start and are at East Grand Forks Sacred Heart Friday. Softball Pine Rvr-Backus
18, Chelsey Dabill also had a triple for PRB
and Saara Backberg added a
home run. Michelle Flategraff
drove in both Laura Bolton got the loss
and Jamie Fey the win. The Tigers host WHA Thursday
