Missing teen’s case called suspicious
CBC News
ESKASONI, N.S. – RCMP now
suspect foul play in the disappearance of a teenage girl from Cape
Breton.
Terrilynne Poulette, 17, was last seen
Feb. 28 when she left a friend's house in Eskasoni to
walk home. Her family hasn't heard from her since.
An extensive search of the area
turned up no sign of the teen. Family members say Poulette
didn't take any belongings, and that it's unlike her to stay away from home
without calling.
This prompted investigators to
issue another public appeal for help Friday.
"She's gone missing for two
and a half months now and there's been no contact at all or
daily living activities. Nothing has ever happened and that's why it's
very suspicious," said RCMP spokesperson Const. Joe Taplin.
The Eskasoni
band council is offering a $5,000 reward for information that will help find Poulette.
Tex Marshall, a band council
spokesperson, says the teen's disappearance has upset everyone in Eskasoni.
"It's a complete mystery to everyone in the community. As
far as I know, no one knows what happened to her. It's almost like she vanished
out of thin air," he said.
Anyone with information is to contact the RCMP Eskasoni
detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
