We would like to thank everyone who supported and sponsored Ashley to attend the Miss Minnesota Jr. Teen Pageant in Bloomington. She had a blast. The first day of the pageant was filled with lots of fun activities especially when Ashley participated in the talent competition and was selected as one of the top 5. Ashley performed the fancy shawl dance on stage in front of a huge audience. As one of the top 5 selected, she was required to perform on the second day of the pageant during the main event, the crowning of the "2006 Jr. Teen Miss Minnesota" and have earned an invitation to participate in the dance performance at the National Pageant in Anaheim California in November. Ashley walked away with two trophy's, one for being a State Finalist and another for 4th runner up in the talent competition. The talent competition consisted of girls singing, playing piano and dancing. It was an honor to share part of our culture with people who have never seen pow-wow dancing or regalia. They were amazed and complimented Ashley several times. She also took part in the casual wear competiton and was escorted by her father in the formal wear event. By the end of the pageant, Ashley made new friends, got to meet Ms. US World, Ms. Nebraska and came away with an experience of a lifetime.
