Woman charged in New Year's stabbing

Woman charged in New Year’s stabbing

Associated Press

BROCKTON - A man was fatally stabbed at a home here early New Year's Day and a woman charged in his death was arraigned Wednesday in Fort Peck Tribal Court.

The Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice charged Stanette Crowe, 20, with murder in the death of Donald Eagleman, 22, Roosevelt County Sheriff Freedom Crawford said Tuesday.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a Brockton home shortly before 1 a.m. Monday to assist Brockton police and tribal authorities with the investigation, Crawford said. They arrived to find Eagleman with a stab wound to the chest.

Eagleman was transported to the Poplar hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Crawford said.

Crawford said there had been no complaints about noise by neighbors that night. He declined to release further details about the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.

Crowe was being held in the Fort Peck Tribal Jail.

Investigators from the sheriff's office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Law and Justice remained at the scene for nearly five hours Monday.
