Panthers roll past Laporte boys

LAPORTE — Brady Fairbanks scored a game-high 28 points to lead the 12-1 Cass Lake-Bena boys basketball team over Laporte Tuesday.

Teddy Reimer hit 20 for Laporte who fell to 0-10. Rick Winter, Taylor Day and Phil Baker all ended with 11 in the loss.

Travis Huesers added 17 for CLB and Jeromy O’Brien 16.

Laporte is at Pine River-Backus Friday and CLB is at Kelliher/Northome next Tuesday.

 

Big second lifts Bears over F-C

CLEARBROOK — Wes Ehlers led the night with 19 points and Clayton Johnson added 12 for Clearbrook-Gonvick in a 69-46 win over Fisher-Climax Tuesday.

C-G led just 25-23 at the half but outscored F-C 38-23 in the second.

The Bears are at Win-E-Mac Friday.

Scott Stebe leads

 

MSCTC-FF over CLC

Former sharpshooter from Clearbrook-Gonvick High School, Scott Stebe scored 23 points to pace the No. 2 MSCTC-Fergus Falls men’s basketball team to a 76-73 win over No. 5 Central Lakes College of Brainerd recently.

Stebe was 8-for-8 at the foul line in the second half and 10-for-10 in the game.

Former Cass Lake-Bena standout Byron Ninham tallied 19 points, and Newfolden’s Dustin Monsebroten finished the game with 13. Monsebroten, Ninham and Stebe all clicked on three of their 3-point shots. Monsebroten came up with nine assists and seven steals.

Stebe also pulled down eight rebounds and Ninham seven. The Spartans (11-3) host Rochester today at 8 p.m.
