The Beltrami County
Sheriff’s Office is working to identify the man responsible for stabbing a
29-year-old Redby man early Sunday morning outside a Wilton bar.
The victim, identified as Keveon Kingbird, told police he was leaving the Git-R-Dun Saloon in Wilton
around 1 a.m. when a white male reached inside his vehicle and stabbed him in
the abdomen, according to investigators.
Kingbird was driven by an acquaintance to North Country Regional Hospital
where he was listed in stable condition on Wednesday.
According to statements
Kingbird gave to investigators, the stabbing may have been provoked by an
incident earlier that evening.
Kingbird told police he was interrupted by
the suspect while looking at a female but said no further altercations took
place inside the bar.
The victim and witnesses described the
suspect as a tall, heavy-set white male wearing a blue, mesh-back baseball cap.
