Duluth Air Show honored at ICAS convention
DULUTH – Last December, the Monaco Air Duluth Air show's website, newspaper ad, and poster were nominated for the annual International Council of Air shows (ICAS) marketing awards. At the annual marketing awards luncheon, the air show was recognized with a second place finish in the website category.
"It was truly an honor to have those marketing pieces nominated for the award, considering they were up against more than 500 other air shows in the world," said Ryan Kern, President, Duluth Air Show. "We had been nominated in 2003, but this is the first time we were given recognition since 2001, when we did really well in several categories and won the sponsorship marketing category."
ICAS also invited Kern to be a faculty member for ICAS and teach a course specific to marketing, cross promotions, and sponsorships. "I'm used to coaching, so it was a surprise to be asked to teach at the annual convention, and I was humbled that the International Council of Air Shows took notice of some of the unique things we are doing here in Minnesota."
The next Duluth Air Show is scheduled for 2008. Photos of the 2006 air show can be viewed at www.duluthairshow.com
The International Council of Air Shows was founded in 1968 as a trade and professional association to protect and promote the interests of professionals in the growing North American air show marketplace. It is the air show authority - the organizational representative for air shows, air show performers, air show producers and air show support services providers throughout the United States and Canada. |
