CLEARBROOK – Sophomore Clayton Johnson led five players in double figures with 20 points to lead Clearbrook-Gonvick to a 97-72 win over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Tuesday. Seniors Chance Goudge, Mike Eck and Nate Bahr all added 14 points while senior Jonny Berg chipped in 13 points for the Bears. Mike Lien scored a game high 26 points for the Wolves and Tracy Senenfelder hit 13. The Bears, the No. 4 team in Class A, are now 11-0 on the year and host Red Lake County Central Friday. Aaron Jorgensen also hit double figures for the Mustangs with 11 points. Adam Lind led the Bears with 12 points. The Mustangs (5-4) are at Laporte Friday. Kristina Salscheider added 18 points for CLB while Tahnee Haas hit 15 and Cara Donnell chipped in 13 points. Rachel Nistler led the Mustangs with 13 points and Jenna Neft added 10. CLB (12-2) is at Deer River Thursday while the Mustangs (2-8) host Clearbrook-Gonvick the same night. BAGLEY – Lindsay Gray scored 19 points as the Bagley Flyers cruised to a 58-27 win over Waubun Tuesday. Bagley is now 10-2 on the year. NEVIS – Nevis built a 14-point lead in the third quarter but Menahga took advantage of turnovers and missed free throws to come out on top 41-37 Thursday. The Tigers led 24-12 at halftime and 30-23 entering the fourth quarter. Nevis did not make a free throw (0-7) in the game. Ali Hesse led Nevis with 16 points.
