Local Chapter of the American Red Cross needs donations Bemidji, Thursday, December 12, 2007 — Local Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking to the general public for donations of some needed items.
1. Blood Pressure cuffs – used for training
2. Stethoscopes-used for training
3. Portable television able to hook up to VCR/DVD
4. 8 oz Styrofoam cups used for major disasters
5. 9 inch Styrofoam plates for major disasters
6. Copier paper 8 ½ X 11
7. Office supplies like paper clips, staples, binder clips, letter size file folders, etc.
We have always operated on a pretty tight budget, the communities we serve are not typically very wealthy. But with rising costs and declining donations we just don’t have the funds we need this winter. We are cutting any costs we can so we can continue to serve our communities.
The past two years we have dealt with so many single family fires that we are so financially strapped at this time we can not go out and purchase these items. We are hoping businesses, groups or people may have some they would like to donate. Plates and cups have to be in original wrapper, labels are okay. Or people may donate via cash, check or credit card.
You may drop items off at the Red Cross Office at 401 Paul Bunyan Drive SE (Old MNDOT Building) or you may donate by sending a check to the North Star Chapter at 401 Paul Bunyan Drive SE, Bemidji, MN 56601 or go online at www.Northstar-redcross.org or call us at 1-800 969-7798.
