| Believing that youth athletics can be a positive and formative experience for girls, Community Education is inviting girls grades 4 and 5th participate in a seven week basketball league held at the St. Mary’s Mission School gym on Mondays and Fridays after school. The first weeks will consist of basketball skills and drills then teams will be selected for 4- to 6 game schedule that concludes no later than February 23. The league will emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and basketball fundamentals. Through participating in this program girls may experience some or all of the many benefits organized sports have to offer: Sportsmanship Team Work Coaching Goal setting Accountability Perseverance Attention Respect Friendship Accomplishment Thrills Exercise Victory Defeat A parental permission slip is below.
