THE LAKE IN PONEMAH

The following poem was written by the
young ladies in attendance at the Ponemah Wellness Camp held, August 13-17, 2007. Instead of a story, these ladies chose to write a poem about the positiveness of Red Lake.

The Lake in Ponemah

Walking along the shore
It was not a bore.
The Shore was fun
in the summer sun.
We waded in the water,
We pretended we were otters.
We went swimming in the lake
and it wasn't fake.
Our lake it gave us food
It put us all in a good mood.
We got tired becasue we were fed
and so, we went off to bed.

Wellness Camp Participants.

Thank you for showcasing the gifts of these young people, who see many good qualities in Red Lake, They have such positive outlooks for the future
of their communities.
