The Minisinaakwaang Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for the following teacher positions:

 

- K-6 Elementary Teachers (multi-grade)

- Special Education Teacher

- Secondary Teachers (multi-course)

 

Applicants must have a current Minnesota Teaching License.  Salary and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and with the region. 

 

The Minisinaakwaang Leadership Academy is a new Minnesota public K-12 charter school, soon to open in the Fall of 2007.  Located 60 miles west of Duluth , near McGregor , Minnesota , the Minisinaakwaang Leadership Academy is housed in a brand new 24,592 square foot, high-tech, state of the art facility, in the small community of East Lake .

 

The Academy’s mission is to prepare today’s youth with leadership skills and academic excellence to meet tomorrow’s challenges in a culturally based environment and community.  The progressive curriculum will have a strong Ojibwe culture focus, deeply connected to the Earth’s eco-system, with high expectations for academic excellence. Class size will be small and organized in high-tech multiage classrooms.  Teachers will have broad authority to design their own classrooms and course offerings around the new Minnesota State Standards with innovative approaches to motivate and inspire rural K-12 students.  There will be an extensive summer curriculum development and professional development program that offers monetary stipends for new teachers.  Join us in making history and reaching for a goal to become the most progressive and productive school in the state of Minnesota
