FBI Special Agent E.K. Wilson reported
that the remains of a Red Lake Nation girl were found on the reservation.
He said he was contacted
Tuesday night by a Red Lake Public Safety officer and the Red Lake Fire
Department.
The remains were sent to the
Ramsey County Medical Examiner and were identified as those of Stacy Hill, a
17-year-old girl who has been missing since Sept. 9.
“The recovery area was in the
North Barton housing area just north of Highway 1,” Wilson said.
He said the investigation is
ongoing and has not been classified as a homicide investigation.
Hill was described in the
missing person request for information as “a vulnerable young woman.”
Wilson said the FBI is interested in talking
to anyone who might have information in any way pertinent to the investigation.
