TRUST FUND DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT The Red Lake Tribal Council is pleased to announce that a Two Hundred Dollar ($200.00) *distribution for all duly enrolled Red Lake Band members was approved by Resolution No. 187-09. Individuals with pending applications for enrollment will receive a trust fund distribution as they become enrolled with the Band. Distribution of checks is scheduled as follows: • ON RESERVATION MEMBERS: December 11 & 12, 2009 in their respective voting districts at the community centers from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. • OFF RESERVATION MEMBERS: Checks will be mailed out on December 10, 2009 * Congress has exempted per capita distributions from our Permanent Trust Fund from federal or state taxation and prohibited our per capita distributions be counted as income for any purpose. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DATES OF IMPORTANCE: Ø CHANGE OF ADDRESS DEADLINE: Friday, December 4, 2009 by 5:00 p.m. § If you have moved within the past year and have not updated your mailing address, please do so immediately. Ø ALL CHECKS FOR ENROLLED MINOR CHILDREN WILL BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE MOTHER WHETHER SHE IS ENROLLED OR NOT. § If a minor child is with someone other than the mother, please provide proof of guardianship to the enrollment staff by Friday, December 4, 2009. § Proof such as MFIP verification, Relative Care verification, school records or court orders will be accepted. NON-CUSTODIAL PARENT(S) ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THEIR MINOR CHILDRENS TRUST FUND DISTRIBUTION. Ø ENROLLMENT DEADLINE: Those BORN ON OR ALIVE on December 17, 2009 must have a completed application along with other required documentation to the Enrollment Department by December 31, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. Once enrollment is approved a check will be issued. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ENROLLMENT YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING: 1) A COMPLETED notarized application. 2) An original certified birth certificate. (If the father is an enrolled member it is preferred he be listed on the birth certificate.) 3) For the purpose of this distribution, a notarized Recognition of Parentage (ROP) will be accepted, however, the application will not be considered complete until the original birth certificate is submitted. 4) Other required documentation is stated in the enrollment application. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: ü Checks reported as lost will have a 60-day waiting period before a new check can be issued. A $20.00 stop payment fee will be assessed for each check. ü Report lost or stolen check(s) to the Tribal Accounting Office to request a stop payment. ü On checks reported as stolen, you will be required to utilize Law Enforcement Services. UPDATE on the TRUST FUND DISTRIBUTION |
| THE CHECK DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
OFF RESERVATION: Checks for off-reservation Tribal Members will be mailed on December 10, 2009. (These checks will be mailed from the Bemidji Post Office.) An announcement was mailed to each Tribal Member, on and off the reservation. If the announcement was returned as undeliverable, your check will be sent to the Red Lake District. The checks that are not picked up will be held in the Accounting Office until an address is provided for mailing. If you did not update your address by December 4, 2009 and the announcement was not returned as undeliverable, your check will be mailed to the address on file. ON RESERVATION: On-reservation Tribal Members will pick up their checks on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2009 and SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the designated locations of which you are registered, as follows: DISTRICT REGISTERED IN: PICK-UP SITE: • LITTLE ROCK DISTRICT - RED LAKE HUMANITIES • RED LAKE DISTRICT - RED LAKE HUMANITIES • REDBY DISTRICT - REDBY COMMUNITY CENTER (in gym) • PONEMAH DISTRICT - PONEMAH COMMUNITY CENTER If the staff is unable to identify you, a picture I.D. will need to be presented to pick up your check. Checks will only be given to the person whose name is on that check. Checks that are not picked up on Friday or Saturday will be mailed on December 14, 2009. |
