Girls Community Education Basketball

The 4th and 5th grade girls basketball program started on a successful note.  Over thirty girls from both Red Lake Elementary and St. Mary’s Mission school attended the first week of practices on Monday and Friday. Girls who missed the first week can still fill out participations slips and join in on the fun. Slips maybe cut and pasted from www.rlnn.com see January 7 2008.
The girls will be divided into teams that will play a February schedule.

Because of the large number of girls participating in this program that runs Mondays and Fridays after school at the St. Mary’s Gym, Adults are welcome to contact Mike McNeil (218-368-4379) to get involved as assistant coaches and stat keepers.

Welcome to Red Lake Community Education

4th and 5th grade basketball program.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

So far the girls’ basketball program has been exceeding expectations. Nearly 40 girls have attended a least one of our first three practices.

We will be dividing to the girls into premeditate teams for the rest of the program.

To help with cost of providing t-shirt jerseys for everyone, we are imposing (asking for) a $ 5.00 jersey fee.

The girls can bring the $5.00 fee to any practice. You may bring it when you attend a game or you may drop it off with Vicki Graves at Community Education.

Also, plans are underway for an after season awards dinner. Contact Mike McNeil if you would like to help with it.

There will be no school January 21 or February 18 so there will be no basketball these nights.

Practices run roughly from 3:00pm to 4:45pm. There will be a late bus to take girls home on Monday but parents and guardians must pick up their girls on Friday.

Changes and information will be posted on the RLNN. (www.rlnn.com)

We welcome parental involvement. You may contact either Victoria Graves 218-679-3537 or Mike McNeil 218-368-4379.

Our number one goal is to provide a positive experience for the girls, emphasizing, fundamentals, sportsmanship and good citizenship.

Mike McNeil

4th and 5th grade girls basketball coordinator.
