POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Specialist is responsible for all financial case management
tasks regarding child support payments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability
to develop, implement, maintain and continuously update on a daily basis
financial case management records using Excel, Microsoft Word and internal
child support database.
- Allocate
child support payments.
- Post
child support payments to individual case accounts.
- Maintain
case account debts and balances.
- Calculate
and generate records of payments.
- Generate
and process Income Withholding Notices.
- Case
closures.
- Prepares
financial reports/records of payment prior to court hearings.
- Assists
with preparation of quarterly and annual reports.
- Works
closely with Accounting Department and staff.
- Assures
that all work product is of high quality,
accurate and produced in a timely manner.
- Other
duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two
(2) year Accounting degree preferred; at least two (2) years accounting
experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess
excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Must
possess excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
- Must
be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
- Ability
to work cooperatively with various Federal, State, County and other Tribal
agencies on a daily basis.
- Must
be knowledgeable of the Minnesota Data Privacy Act and Red Lake Nation
Tribal Codes, specifically pertaining to Family Law/Child Support.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must
possess a valid Minnesota Driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Must
be bondable, trust-worthy and dependable.
- Ability
to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable law
regulation and/or policy.
- Will
be subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing.
- Will
be required to sign a Program Confidentiality Statement and understand
penalties for any violations.
- Must
be willing to travel.
