To maintain the facilities and equipment in a safe
operation/environment in accordance with established policy and procedures of
the Maintenance Department.Reports to
the Facilities Manager, with no supervisory responsibility.Salary is DOQ.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
Performs
manual labor tasks involved in the cleaning of buildings, courtroom,
offices, hallways and other space.
Sweeps,
mops, waxes, dusts, cleans, and polishes office furniture and washes
windows, walls, wood work and metal doors.
Empties
wastebaskets, collects and disposes of trash, cleans and disinfects
toilet facilities and replenishes soaps, towels, paper, etc.
Follows
safety rules and regulations, performs duties with care to prevent
damage to equipment and furnishings.Reports to supervisor any defects in equipment and property.
Incumbent
has a prescribed set of guidelines that list all types of work to be
performed and the frequency that is required to each task.Little training is required for most
tasks.Supervisor will inspect
work.
Performs
other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
·High school diploma or equivalent.
·Must have basic knowledge of janitorial tools and
equipment.
·Must be able to operate light-powered equipment,
such as light floor polishers, buffers, floor vacuum cleaners and other
equipment that are commonly used in cleaning and in floor maintenance that is
associated with janitorial work.
·Must exercise good judgment in performance of daily
routine janitorial duties and follow established work schedules.
